I received a package from TF-Direct.com the other day. It was none other than a long awaited Masterpiece MP-18 Replica (KO). Here are a few comparison pictures in vehicle mode.
On the KO (LEFT), the window was very clouded compared to the Takara (RIGHT). In hand the difference is not as bad as this closeup. I will be trying to buff it out from underneath in case it is mold release.
Takara (LEFT), KO (RIGHT)
Takara (LEFT) KO (RIGHT)
Takara (LEFT) KO (RIGHT)
Takara (LEFT) KO (RIGHT) I noticed the Z emblem has en extra ring and the Autobot logo is better printed on the KO
The headsculpt is where you will find the biggest difference.
The KO (LEFT) has a softer sculpt in the helmet but has a more symmetrical face. The Takara has a sharper sculpt but something is up with the right side cheek. it sits higher and cuts through the edge of his mouth and not the other. Clearly though, the Takara seems better finished.

As of March this year of 2014, the MP-10 KO has been making the rounds on ebay and other places. KO makers have been very busy and this is their most ambitious release to date. Much like the MP-12J, they have made changes. The MP-12J sported a new color and this MP-10 sports more paint apps than the Takara Convoy it's based on. There are even some improvements made in this KO version over the Takara version. Most informaiton you will want to know will be in the video below. If you are looking for one of these you will wanto to check out http://www.tf-direct.com to grab your very own. Use the code RPA5 to get $5 off your order. Order more than $150 and get 10% off on top of that.
As you can see, it looks damn good.
You'll notice the yellow crotch plate no longer has a screw hole. These were one of the improvements made.
An excellent improvement is having the index finger pinned in so you never lose it like you would on the Takara.
Notice the extra dark silver paint apps.
The back really shows off the extra paint apps not found on the Takara,
The back of the calves sport some extra paint apps too. The thighs on the KO are painted Silver as opposed to being molded in grey plastic.
Cab you believe the KO guys painted the tail lights but Takara didnt?
Here is a side by side picture so you can really see the differences between the two.

So its finally out there. The improved MP-10 and it's a KO. Will be getting one for review from a friend soon so stay tuned so you know where to pick yours up.
If I'm not mistaken, this is a limited release of about 50 figures made in this red color. It's a KO Browning recently released. I paid about $45 for it when it first came out. It basically like the popular G1 Megatron. This actually comes from the same line Megs came from before he was rebranded as a Transformer.
it comes in a styrofoam brick which comes inside of a nice brown cardboard box...which I didn't photograph. Sorry
It feels SOOO vintage. But it isn't.
Color instructions
You get a pair of sticker sheets. Black and Silver
I just put up a post about the Takara MP-12T which I just recently got and no sooner is that up and I already have the KO version. Very nicely done. Pretty much identical. This is not one of those factory rejects, this is a full blown exact copy. Stay tuned for video comparison.
Straight from China in a padded envelope...really? Can't tell but back of box is crushed. Always aske seller if they are shipping in an envelope or box. Standard so far is $3 more for a box.
KO on top, Takara on bottom
Tray and layout identical to the Takara
Comes with full color manual, sticker sheet, spec card and a bonus accessory set of piledrivers
